The World Percussion Group is back for 2025! Why not audition for the World's largest multi-national percussion group.

Keeping true to its core values, our mission is to continue providing a cultural professional development experience for up and coming artists globally. The 2024 WPG Academy was such a huge success that this year we have brought it back again but..... its BIGGER and BETTER than ever! We have put together a platform that we believe to be cutting edge in the industry and will provide you with the perfect opportunity to increase your employability and visibility. An extensive 2 month program will support your musical development and facilitate networks internationally with other like-minded musicians.

WPG 2025 Academy will consist of an online virtual experience like no other. A carefully selected roster of exceptional highly experienced coaches will put you through your paces in multiple masterclasses. Coaches to include: Colin Currie, Michael Burritt, Ji Hye Jung, Christoph Sietzen, Kai Strobel, Dame Evelyn Glennie, Eriko Daimo, Steven Schick, Svet Stoyanov, Nancy Zeltsman, Theodor Milkov, Emmanuel Séjourné, Tim Palmer, Pius Cheung, and Garrett Mendelow. These masterclasses will be via Restream and some will be livestreamed through our specially developed livestream platform which can be seen below. Your opportunity to ask the very best in the business those burning questions that you've always had. With an additional spin on contemporary music, this year we will have Garrett Mendelow and Artistic director Tim Palmer coaching several Virtual Collaboration Sessions on Xenakis' 'Okho', David Lang's 'So-Called Laws of Nature', and John Psathas' 'Kyoto' over several months.

WPG will select an estimated 20 artists between the ages of 18-32 (at the time of application). Applications are open to individuals and existing chamber groups (duos, trios, quartets).

You will be given plenty of opportunity to hone your skills with virtual performances which will be recorded over the two months, solo opportunities and engage in almost 50 hours of masterclasses! We believe that the fusion of top class coaches, an exciting new WPG online interface and a newly established network of upcoming artists will help you develop your strategy for success, enrich you as a musician and offer extensive visibility globally! 

The tour schedule is as follows and the schedule is flexible to allow you to take partake around your pre-existing commitments (performing or education). Attendance to every session is not mandatory however Garrett Mendelow sessions are compulsory.

Fees:

While this year there will be no Registration Fee, a tour fee will be payable for WPG 2025 Academy. This fee helps support the projects running costs, the world-class faculty, and alllows us to evolve the experience that we offer. A course fee of £995 GBP will be due in order to participate however, we also have some scholarships available!
